The Process

When it comes to website design and development, there’s a lot of clutter out there. And sorting it all out makes developing your site anything but simple. But Timberglade Design can bring clarity to the process.

Information Gathering

Timberglade Design will dig deep into your company and your vision for your new website, and will draw up a detailed creative brief that describes how we can help you achieve your vision.

  • You and your team complete a questionnaire that helps us learnĀ more about your company, your design aesthetic, your target market, your competition, the deliverables you expect, and your timeframe and budget.
  • Timberglade Design provides a creative brief and proposal thatĀ outlines your objectives, the scope of the website, overall marketing and branding strategy, and our recommendations.

Site Mapping

Ease of navigation and usability are key to a good website. In this phase, Timberglade Design defines all the content (pages) you want to incorporate into your site. We’ll look at your current site structure, discuss new ideas you want to include, and develop a site map.

At this point we will also discuss social media integration (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and other technologies that will be used in your site (custom forms, file sharing, e-commerce, javascript, etc.).

Design

Now comes the fun part! Based on our information gathering and site map, Timberglade Design begins the design process. We use wireframes (a black & white “sketch” of the overall design elements) and mockups (full color JPGs or PDFs of preliminary design ideas).

  • We provide you with a secure login site at timberglade.com where you can view the ongoing design process and make comments and changes.
  • At the end of the process, we’ll create a website concept design for you to approve.

Development

Once we have the concept design approved, we start building the actual, functional website. The database is installed, the WordPress CMS is configured, and your custom theme is developed. We will also incorporate any other technology that was specified in the Site Mapping phase.

  • You will continue to have access to the process through your secure login at timberglade.com.
  • Some design tweaks may occur during this stage, as seeing a “real” website in action can inspire new ideas. We’ll monitor the budget and schedule, however, and move any major changes into a later site enhancement.

Testing & Delivery

Now that your website is almost complete, we’ll test and validate the script, coding, forms, cross- browser compatibility, etc. to ensure everything works as promised. You and your team will be an important part of site testing, as you know better than anyone you and your clients are expecting from the site.

Once the testing is complete, we will upload the site to the server. We’ll run through everything one more time, then launch the site. You’re live!

Promotion & Maintenance

Your new site is online. Now what? Since your site was built with WordPress, an open-source, easily customizable CMS, you might choose promote and maintain it yourself.

Or, if you’d like, Timberglade Design can continue to work with you, adding or changing site elements, maintaining CMS upgrades, monitoring analytics software, enhancing your social media connections, and tweaking your SEO settings for maximum results. It’s up to you.
